WEEKEND WORKSHOP - BEGINNERS

Date: Sat 11th September 2010 till Sun 12th September 2010

Start Time: 10:00:00 End Time: 17:00:00

Week end workshop for beginners to Rosen who are interested in exploring this approach to well-being through touch with heart centred presence. Also for past students wishing to refresh their skills.

Central London venue.

Weekend workshops are for people who want a chance to unwind body, mind, and heart - to discover what more is available to us when we go deeply into our unconscious holdings. Holdings are any way we limit our capacity for healthy loving lives.

Weekends are intended to be a gentle introduction to the guiding principles of Rosen Bodywork (developed and expanded at seven day Intensives).  Rosen touch is designed to release muscular tensions through focused gentleness and by allowing the emotional triggers for these tensions to softly melt. This enables participants to experience inner space and a greater sense of their embodied selves. As we give up tensions in the body that began with unconscious contraction, we gain greater vitality and sense of peace. With the new awareness that comes from an awakened connection to our vital 'heart' wisdom, comes insight, and the opportunity for new growth and healing.

Sometimes by slowing down and attending to ourselves first, as we know, we get more done, more easily. We are effective because we are less stressed. In Rosen Method we take some time 'out', from busyness - to take time 'in'. To experience an almost meditative physical dialogue, that enables us to relax and recharge where we need to. To help us discern what is important, and what is not. What we need and what serves us best, and what doesn't. What is just old cycles of stress repeating themselves, and what is current and meaningful and wants our attention.

By both giving and receiving the type of nurturing touch and connection that Rosen Method Bodywork offers, we can boost our immune systems as well as energizing our hearts.  Many studies show the benefit of touch on our well being, and also that certain types of touch assist the body to produce it's own healing tonic: the chemical called oxytocin which is associated with feelings of calm, creativity and bonding.

Rosen Bodywork helps us to process the stresses and strains of everyday life, and let go of old patterns of tension or self suppression that can show up in the body as aches, pains and fatigue. It is also an intriguing way of opening to unexplored territories in our psyche to gain a better understanding of our bodies; the way we operate in life - our motives, responses, and way of relating to others.

Price: £140

ROSEN METHOD GLOBAL CONGRESS IV at Heythrop Hall, Oxfordshire, United Kingdom, October 12-16 2010

 ‘NEW INITIATIVES’

‘Let the past inform us - Then open to new possibilities’

Global Congress IV is a gathering of Rosen Method students, practitioners, teachers, school owners and administrators from all the countries around the World where Rosen Method is taught or practiced. By participating in this Bi-annual event begun by Juliane Knoop, Director of Rosen Methode-Körperarbeit-Deutsches Zentrumwith the first Global Congress in Germany in 2004, we are helping to build on the foundations created by the pioneers of Rosen Method - Marion and her first students and teachers. The successive Congresses, hosted by Finland and the United States, have continued the momentum we generate together when we pool our resources, ideas, questions, passion, interest, knowledge, and abilities. The Congresses so far have helped to create new ways of problem solving, enhanced professional relationships and networking, new friendships, enterprises, ideas and support for the teaching and practise of the Rosen Method worldwide.

Yet again we welcome participants to the beautiful and picturesque English countryside of the Cotswolds and Oxfordshire for the bi-annual event in honour of Marion Rosen, and many other long serving members of the Rosen Community that has worked very hard to help Rosen Method grow to such an extent that we all can witness today.

The Congress provides ample opportunity for cross-cultural exchanges in all forms; keynote and plenary sessions, discussions, panels,  RMPA exchanges, All Teachers Group (ATG) meetings, and subject related discussions, workshops, roundtables, sharing circles, movement classes, externally provided training and hands-on work. In addition, there will be time to relax, unwind, and meet new and old friends and colleagues in the stately home setting of Heythrop Hall.

Heythrop Hall serves as an excellent venue for the Congress, by offering not only good accommodation choices with delicious food and drinks but also providing extensive parkland and ornate gardens for walks as well as a brand new swimming pool with state of the art gymnasium, sauna and treatment rooms. See www.heythroppark.co.uk to view pictures of rooms, leisure centre, and hotel. It is possible to book extra days at the hotel if you wish to extend your stay to visit some of the many beautiful sites nearby in Oxford, Stratford upon Avon, and at Woodstock where you can visit the home of Winston Churchill, Blenheim Palace.

Our theme this year is New Initiatives. Rosen Method was first conceived over decades of Marion Rosen's experience in life, and as a physical therapist. Marion's students drew her learning from her, in the way our students and clients draw us to continue to develop. This is a time when as an organization our students and members are asking us also to evolve. What are the demands of delivering Rosen Method Training in 2010, can we learn from other methodologies, what is the way forward for us in the current marketplace? How can we continue to grow, thrive, and prosper - and what helps us to do that?

This year for the first time we will have a presentation by Dr Asaf Rolef Ben Shahar from Israel , (his website is www.imt.co.il ). As well as offering training to the Leaders Conference and Congress he will be running some smaller workshops for those interested.

For the evening entertainment the Congress will offer a theatre and music night, where individuals are invited to perform a piece of music or maybe offer a short play to be performed. There will also be a silent auction – please bring something to offer to the auction. Monies collected will go to the Marion Rosen Legacy Fund.

We are also offering a Poetry and Photographic Wall – please bring your favourite poem (your own or someone else’s) and your inspiring photographs and we will display your contributions. Perhaps you will wish to donate your favourite picture to the silent auction as well.

We are inviting proposals from all of you concerning topics for discussion which you would like to be included at the Congress - as well as offers of workshop presentations. Please email you thoughts and ideas, to info@rosenmethod.co.uk and put as your Subject  - Proposal for Congress Topics/Workshop Idea. For more details, see separate Document – ‘Call for Presentations’ that we will be sending out soon.
